Story & Screenplay
Let’s start our review of the movie Medal by talking about its plot. Rajveer/Raja (Jay Randhawa), who had an ambition of winning a national gold medal, is the centre of the film’s plot. However, he encountered Angad (Jag Singh), an envious and haughty rival, along the way. Raja is once more disqualified from the sprint as Angad cheats on him. As a result, Raja encounters numerous difficulties and decides to enter the criminal underworld in order to exact revenge on Angad. How does he exact his vengeance? Or will he actually be able to exact his retribution? This is the main subject of the film.
We personally loved the story of movie, which was very much clear from the trailer. But the portrayal of this in the story is what really makes it stand out. This movie’s USP that connects effectively with fans’ hearts is the writing. There were, however, a few moments that were superfluous and could have been shortened.
Acting & Performances
In our assessment of the movie Medal, we will now discuss the performances after discussing the story of the film. Starting this section off with Jay Randhawa, the movie’s leading man. Fans have been waiting for something special from Jay since the day this movie was announced, and he doesn’t like to let them down. Jay delivered another outstanding performance that will live on in the hearts of fans for a very long time. His acting range is demonstrated by the way he changed his persona from a likeable young man to a swaggering king of crime. If you’re not already a fan, his dialogue delivery and facial expressions are more than enough to convert you.
The newcomer Baani Sandhu performed admirably in her role. She could have, however, used more of the screen. We were quite impressed by Jag Singh’s performance as the movie’s major adversary. His physique, facial gestures, and body language were too excellent for a villain.
In addition to these, the supporting cast of the movie also includes good performances by Hobby Dhaliwal and Pardeep Rawat.
Writing & Direction
What more could a fan want for than this? Jassi Lohka is the writer and director of the film. This film was written in a blockbuster style by Jassi. Additionally, Maneesh Bhatt, the director, did a fantastic job. It’s admirable how he played Jay Randhawa in the movie. The Direction team has achieved complete success because “Medal” looks just like a proper action-packed mass entertainer should.
Action & BGM
Since it’s a Jay Randhawa movie, anticipation was high. And ‘Medal’ never lets its supporters down. You’re going to enjoy it for sure since the action choreography was too fantastic and there were some truly heart-stopping moments. The movie’s action will occasionally bring to mind KGF: Chapter 2.
The movie’s BGM is undoubtedly a hit. Each scenario was well-complementary and benefited from background music. When a masterful action is combined with a stirring background score, your heart rate will spike.
In terms of speech, Medal is undoubtedly one of the greatest Punjabi films ever made. Nobody in the theatre could help but applaud since the dialogue was so entertaining and well-written. From these two examples, “Jithe saada raula hou othe 302 hi lagugi paa do status” and “patte te duniya kise di marji naal ni hilde hilaune painde aa,” you may infer how well the dialogue in the film was written.
It’s time to wrap up our Medal movie review by offering some parting thoughts about the picture. Therefore, Medal is a potent mass entertainer that features a wonderful blend of a compelling narrative, an excellent storyline, fantastic action, an upbeat BGM, and jaw-dropping performances. Due to all of these factors, Team Desi gives Medal 4.5 out of 5 stars. Some needless scenes that could have been cut led to a decrease in ratings. However, Medal is a fantastic treat for fans of action thrillers, and if you’re a fan of Jay Randhawa, Medal is another blockbuster present from him to you, so just get a ticket and take in this incredible action thriller in theatres.
