Today, February 14, 2025, the Punjabi film “Illti” makes its theatrical debut, offering audiences a unique blend of comedy and environmental themes. Directed by Varinder Ramgarhia and penned by Gurpreet Bhullar, the film is produced by KV Dhillon and Jagjeet Sandhu under the banners of Geet MP3 and Jagjeet Sandhu Films. “Illti” presents a narrative that oscillates between two parallel worlds: the Stone Age and the modern era of 2024. In the ancient setting, the protagonist, Illti, innovates by creating tools and a rudimentary four-wheeler, emphasizing the significance of environmental conservation. In the contemporary timeline, Illti is reincarnated and continues his mission to protect nature. His life takes a turn when his aunt, Bhajan Kaur, becomes entangled in a forest destruction scandal, propelling Illti into a journey to safeguard the environment.
The film’s production spanned from August 15 to October 1, 2024, capturing the scenic beauty of various locations across Punjab, including Ropar, Mohali, and Fatehgarh Sahib. The promotional campaign kicked off with a teaser released on December 5, 2024, followed by the official trailer on January 26, 2025, both of which have garnered positive responses for their humor and engaging content.
