Rajkumar Hirani’s film ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’ recently completed its 20 years. The story of this film, the acting of the actors, and the touching scenes were highly praised. On 19th December 2003, the film ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’ was released with the brilliant performances of Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi, Boman Irani and Kurush Debu. Khurshid Lauer, who played the role of Sanjay Dutt’s roommate Swami in the film, left his mark despite his small role. Khurshid has recently revealed that the film was delayed because of Shah Rukh Khan.
In an interview, Khurshid Lawyer said that after the audition round, he was selected for the role of Swami. However, he also revealed, “Munna Bhai’s MBBS was delayed a lot. It was delayed by about 10 months due to Shah Rukh Khan’s back injury.
When asked if he has ever faced Shahrukh Khan, the actor said that Shahrukh Khan has never shot for a film. Finally, this project went ahead with Sanjay Dutt. In his personal opinion, ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’ would not have been Munna Bhai Munna without Sanjay Dutt. And similarly ‘Dunki’ would not be Dunki without Shah Rukh Khan. He believes that both the actors were destined to play their respective characters and it seems that it was God’s will.
Khurshid Lawyer was also a part of Shah Rukh Khan’s recent film ‘Dunki’. When asked if he met Shah Rukh this time, the actor said that due to his busy schedule, he did not get a chance to interact and the atmosphere was very professional.
The satirical comedy-drama ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’, released on 19th December 2003, stars Sanjay Dutt as Murli Prasad Sharma. At the beginning of the film, Sanjay Dutt’s character runs an extortion racket, but later, to get a medical degree, Dr. Jagdish is forced to enroll in the medical college of Asthana. Arshad Warsi, who played Munna Bhai’s loyal aide Circuit, and Sanjay Dutt have shown a wonderful relationship in the film.
